Last year more than 1,000
gay men in Tarrant County
were treated for HIV disease
and the CDC estimates that
more than 1,400 gay men in
Tarrant County are now
living with HIV.
iPlay is the "friends don't
let friends drive drunk" of
HIV prevention. Our program
trains leaders within gay
social networks to talk with
and educate their friends
about HIV and the importance
of playing safe.
This was the first time
someone talked about HIV in
real terms, not scare
tactics or boring
statistics. I learned a lot
and most of all it was fun.
(And, I look great in the
T-shirt!)
